Bisset Road, Kaikohe, Northland

Integrated planning, surveying and civil engineering for an approximately 100-unit residential development in Kaikohe.

Project Overview

Chester's planners, surveyors and civil engineers have been providing integrated development services for this approximately 100-unit residential development in Kaikohe, assisting the project through the concept design, consenting and engineering design phases.

The project is located on a greenfield residential site adjoining established urban development and required careful consideration of servicing connections, infrastructure capacity and future growth demands. Chester's involvement has included planning and consenting inputs, topographical and cadastral surveying, civil engineering design, infrastructure assessments and coordination with Council and service providers to support the successful progression of the development.

The site's generally flat topography presented a number of engineering challenges, including achieving appropriate servicing gradients, integrating with ageing existing infrastructure and confirming downstream network capacity to accommodate future demand. Drawing on experience gained from comparable projects, Chester developed practical and innovative solutions to address these constraints while supporting the overall development objectives. The team successfully completed all surveying, design and resource consenting requirements.

The project is under construction, with Stage 1 scheduled for delivery in Q1 2027, and will provide much-needed community housing as part of the developer's long-term vision for the area.
