Kauri Flats School

A sustainable and community-focused school development for a growing Auckland suburb.

Project Overview

Kauri Flats School was developed to meet the educational needs of Takanini’s growing population. Chester provided civil, fire, and structural engineering inputs for the project.

A key design feature was the use of a network of swales to manage stormwater, promoting an environmentally sustainable alternative to a traditional piped system.

Structurally, the project faced challenges due to the site’s ground conditions, requiring innovative solutions to ensure the school’s long-term performance. Chester worked closely with neighbouring developments to deliver a coordinated and practical outcome for all stakeholders.
